Accounting Manager at the Department of Finance, Stockholm University

The Department of Finance at Stockholm University is now seeking a driven and experienced Accounting Manager who looks forward to playing a key role in the development of our operations.

The Department has begun automating our processes. We will soon also initiate the procurement of a new financial administrative system.

The Department has over 40 employees and is part of the university administration.

The Department consists of two sections and a staff unit. We work to ensure that financial management is efficient and legally secure, with a strong focus on supporting the university's goals.

The Department is responsible for the authority's external financial reporting and provides specialist knowledge regarding the university's financial planning, monitoring, accounting, and procurement.

Job Responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, you will lead the accounting section and ensure that the financial reporting is of high quality and complies with applicable regulations.

You and your team will act as support for the entire university and are responsible for ensuring that the university's accounting model meets the requirements for both external reporting and internal monitoring. You have a holistic perspective and are driven to develop university-wide processes in the accounting area.

Your main responsibilities include leading and participating in:

• the work of the accounting section, including personnel responsibility for 16 employees
• the work with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the entire university
• the preparation of the financial parts of the annual report
• coordination of audits and contact with auditors
• development and streamlining of accounting processes.

An important part of your work is to collaborate on accounting issues both internally and externally and to follow the development of regulations in the accounting area.

You have solid competence and experience in accounting. The work requires you to navigate between operational and strategic tasks.

You report to the Chief Financial Officer and are part of the management team of the finance department.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent education.
• Several years of relevant experience in qualified accounting work.
• Experience in developing processes.
• Leadership experience.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

About the Employment

The position is permanent full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
